It gives me immense pleasure to present our first School Magazine- LEADING EDGE. It means the forefront, especially of technological development.

We at RIS are working towards a system of education which can provide this Technological and Digital Edge to the students and lead them to success in the years to come.As said by George Curos, “Technology is not just a tool. It can give learners a voice that they may not have had before.”Education is a lifelong process. We are proud that we are able to work towards the vision, being envisioned by our Founder Chairman, Mr. Mohan Dang and the Secretary of RIS, Capt. Sumant Dang.

The school was established in 2014 and in only four years it has grown to a considerable extent. There has been a visible improvement in the infrastructure of the school. The Basketball Court has been built and inaugurated this year and the 1st RIS Inter School Basketball Championship was organized successfully. New classrooms for Grades IX and X have been constructed with more additional classrooms to begin with the classes in the next session.

We believe that most of the educational learning can be done through innovative and communicative methods rather than only through textbooks. Here we provide the students to think and write about what he/she is imagining or reading or seeing around and provide them a platform for open discussions. To give way to all these innovative methods, we have introduced Outdoor Classroom Days through innovative activities besides our regular classroom curriculum.

We always ensure to keep a balance between our Academics and Para-Academics so that we can focus on an all round personality development of each student. Our students have been performing remarkably in all the Inter House and Inter School Competitions like Debates, Quizzes, Spellathon, Drawing and Painting, Dance, Music, Badminton, Basketball, Kho-Kho, Carrom, etc. to name a few. Two budding artists Vanshika Painuly of Grade VIII and Sanjana of Grade VII bagged the Third and the Consolation Prizes respectively in the Inter School Drawing and Painting Competition organized by the Lioness Club of Rishikesh.

It was a proud moment for us when we were awarded the First Prize in the Government organized “Swachh Survekshan 2017 “amongst the Private Schools Category in the Muni-Ki-Reti and Dhalwala Nagar Palika area. We have celebrated the Uttarakhand Day on 9th November in a grand way, with the basic aim of enriching the students of the love and respect for their state, language, culture, tradition and custom and about the soldiers who have sacrificed their lives for the cause of the nation. We have dedicated one wall of school titled, ‘WALL OF HONOUR’ in memory of martyred soldiers of Uttarakhand.

Our students also participated in the District Level Science Exhibition held at Narendra Nagar and won accolades and appreciation for their excellent models and One Act Play on Digital India. We are very proud to share with you all that two of our students, Harshit Singh of Grade-VIII and Harjeet Singh of Grade-VI were selected in the U-14(Boys) District Basketball Team. We have a Page on Facebook-Rishikesh International School, where we regularly publish all the activities and events organized by the school so that all our well wishers can remain apprised of the latest happening in the school.

At the end, I extend my sincere thanks to all the parents for trusting us and giving us their constant support in bringing up the school. I also extend my thanks and gratitude to our Managing Committee, my Teachers and staff for their constant support and co-operation. Wish you all success!
